DBQ Federalist vs Antifederalist essays It can be argued that the Federalists were the first political party in the United States. Their goal was simple; to unite the states and form a strong central government. There were various attempts at uniting the states, the first of which was the Articles of Confederation. These articles were not effective due to the fact that they did not have the power to tax the States or the power to enforce a uniform commercial policy. This caused the government to basically go bankrupt, and when this occurred, it was evident that the Federalists had failed in their plan of union. Their next attempt, the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, was successful in uniting the States, but still lacked the necessary acceptance of the people. Due to the failure of the Articles, the people did not trust the Federalists who created them, and in effect, would not allow those same men to gain supreme power of the country by creating a strong central government. The Federalists were not successful in handling the problems that faced this newly created nation because they lacked the power of a strong central government. The people of the United States were not satisfied with the way that the government was handling matters which pertained directly to them; which was without their consent. This is shown in the case of the Whiskey Rebellion (Document D). The Whiskey Tax was implemented due to the fact that the federal government needed to raise money to pay off state debts. Hamiltons plan was to tax Jeffersons supporters; this way he would not lose any of his own supporters, and at the same time he would be raising the necessary funds with which he would pay off the states debts. I normally dont talk about this with anyone that I dont know, and truly writing about these things in my life is very hard for me with a class that is online, where I dont know anyone. This is taking a lot of courage to write this for people to know. My life was an uphill battle. When I was growing up I dated someone that beat me for years. This was just not physical, but also mental and emotional abuse. This was just the start of what happened to me. When my parents looked at me they always said I didnt do things that were good for me. As I got older I was traded by someone that I was dating for drugs and eventually raped by her drug dealer. This led me to end up being pregnant and having a child. After all of this I have had many feelings of depression and sadness that made it so I did nothing with my life for a long time. I would everyday use these feelings to keep myself in my bed and hide from the world and do nothing with my days. As time went on I always used the fixed mindset that I was nothing and dirty, which led me to fall into a deeper depression and I would stop trying to get better because I thought there was no use. As time went on I started using a growth mindset with the help of other people to change the way that I felt. This made it so I could do something with my days. I always had to say to myself that I am more than what happened to me, Im a survivor. I can do anything and I have to be a mother to my child and that is what helped support my growth mindset. Every time that I started to fall back into the fixed mindset of depression and hopelessness I would use my self-talk and push myself to a growth mindset to keep moving on. This has been the hardest thing in my life, but I have pushed through.

While of course these characteristics are things everyone tries to perfect throughout their lifetime, this is not the focal point of the Miss America pageant. The actual lyrics are; â€Å"She’s beauty and she’s grace. She’s queen of 50 states. She’s elegance and taste. She’s Miss United States† (Miss Congeniality). It is shocking to see the digression in humanity’s morals and values over the past decade. As clichà © as it sounds, the media is the center of it all. Over the past 100 years, humans have altered the  chemical composition of the earth’s atmosphere through the buildup of greenhouse gases,therefore resulting in Global Warming. Why are greenhouse gas concentrations  increasing? Some greenhouse gases occur naturally in the atmosphere, while others result from human activities. Naturally occurring greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide,methane, and nitrous oxide. Certain human activities, add to the levels of most of these  naturally occurring gases. Carbon dioxide is released when solid waste, fossil fuels (oil,natural gas, and coal), and wood are burned. Methane is emitted during the production and transport of coal, natural gas, and oil. Methane emissions also result from the decomposition of organic wastes in landfills and the raising of livestock. Finally Nitrous oxide is emitted during agricultural and industrial activities. What are some of the effects, due to global warming? Surface temperatures have increased 1.0 °C-3 °C since the late 19th century. The 20th century’s 10  warmest years  have all occurred in the last 15 years of the century. Worldwide precipitation over land has increased by about one percent and globally, sea level has risen 4-8 inches over the past century. Global warming has also decreased snow cover in the northern hemisphere,and melted glaciers. Changing regional climate could alter crops yields, water supplies,and forests.
